The classic category order
Trail, Pure Sequence, Sequence, Colour, Pair, High Card: strongest to weakest in the baseline used here.
A comparison routine
Read three cards, identify the category, then compare only the relevant rank key. Check the rule convention before interpreting an ace run.
Our reference choices
The default tool convention follows Pagat’s A-2-3-first run order. A selectable alternative puts A-K-Q first, as described in the other linked guide. Neither accepts K-A-2 as a run.
Equal rank is not pot entitlement
The tool reports Equal hand rank when the comparison keys match. A show’s procedural rules can still determine entitlement, so this is not a settlement calculator.
